A second home for Building Blocks

After 4 years of working with the Child Welfare and The department of Social Welfare, Building Blocks Children’s Home has established itself as a responsible and competent organisation that provides a voice and care to the innocent.

We are delighted to announce that as a result of all the amazing support we have received locally and internationally, we are on the eve of opening up our second Building Blocks Home in Observatory.

We have found a charming 3- bedroom house in which six children will live, grow and be loved in permanent foster care. The home will be headed up by Rose (a home grown Capetonian) who will be the House mother in charge. Rose will be assisted by Tendai, a lovely Zimbabwean expat. Both ladies have been carefully selected for the job and have had formal training in foster care. The home will be strictly monitored on a daily basis to meet the extremely high standards we have set as an organization.

We are also looking forward to our second annual fund raising event which will take place on the 8th of November on board Sinfonia, an MSC cruise liner in Cape Town. Last year’s event was a phenomenal success and most of all extreme fun. This year is going to be even better and the funds raised will ensure that our new house is able to run properly.

We are looking forward to putting our children’s names down to attend the local school.

We have always maintained these children are after all, the Building Blocks of our community.

Kim Killeen
